BAI represents PHL in ASEAN-ACCAHZ

The Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) represented the Philippines in the 18th Meeting of the Preparatory Committee for the operationalization of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Coordinating Center for Animal Health and Zoonoses (ACCAHZ) today, February 16, 2022 via BlueJeans Video Conferencing.

The Center is established through an agreement between the ASEAN member states and is envisioned to allow the easier coordination and inter-governmental cooperation between ASEAN countries for zoonotic and transboundary animal diseases (TADs) such as African Swine Fever (ASF).

ASEAN is a group of Southeast Asian countries that promotes economic, political and security cooperation. Its members are the Philippines, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. ###
